During my twenties I travelled extensively throughout India and Nepal, volunteering in schools and observing how powerful education can be. I returned to the UK and trained to be a teacher. Since then I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings including mainstream, SEN and PRU. I love sharing ideas with people and helping others to see the best in themselves, and I have come to see how important the pastoral side of education is. I began volunteering for the Samaritans and it was always a huge privilege to be invited into the private thoughts and experiences of people on the phone. Following a number of years with the Samaritans I began an MSc in Psychotherapy.
